The Kino Device is an essential piece of equipment featured in the sci-fi television series Stargate Universe. It was discovered by the crew of the Ancient ship Destiny during their travels through the Stargate network. The Kino is a small spherical device that included a remote control which could be attached to the crew’s exploration suits as both a data recorder and a navigation tool.
The Kino device was discovered early in the first season when Eli Wallace came upon a mysterious ancient laboratory aboard the Destiny filled with Kinos. After testing the devices, he found out that they could not only be operated remotely from the command interface in the control room of the ship, but also be sent out on missions to record video and audio.
The design of the Kino device was quite basic: it was a small metallic ball which could hover and move in all directions. It was equipped with a small camera, a microphone, and several data recording tools.
Throughout the show, the Kino device was used for a variety of purposes. Its primary use was to collect data from the various planets and moons the crew of the Destiny visited in the Stargate continue. For instance, it was used to explore and find out more about the planet with the drones. The Kino was also used as a scouting tool, it was sent out to investigate any suspicious activity around the ship before the crew proceeded with their missions.
The Kino device was a versatile piece of equipment and a crucial part of the team’s exploration of the universe. Its versatility and mobility provided the crew with invaluable information on the vast wonders of space. The Kino device enabled the team to observe and document the places they traveled to in greater detail than ever before.
